history
the campus

Alongside its commitment to students, Goldsmiths is dedicated to broadening its national, regional and local impact through partnerships with local communities, regional and national bodies and businesses.

  • We are working with the Deptford Creative Sector to enhance the creative activity in the area, capitalising on a remarkable centre for creative education incorporating Goldsmiths, Laban Centre (pre-eminent in the study of movement and dance), Trinity College of Music and Lewisham College.

  • The College and its Office for Business and Community Development are working to develop knowledge transfer to business and the wider community - the third mission for universities, alongside teaching and research.

  • We support groups which are under-represented in higher education, encouraging widening participation, and continuing our commitment to life-long learning.

  • We actively promote awareness of the importance of environmental issues, sustainability and regeneration, through our teaching and research.

  • We play a major role in local regeneration, by maintaining our listed buildings, revitalising property, and striving for excellence in our new buildings.
