Translating the Image: Cross Cultural Contemporary Arts is an AHRB (Arts and Humanities Research Board) 5 year funded major research project running from September 2000 – August 2005.
Translating the Image, Cross Cultural Contemporary Arts employs two 0.5 Research Fellows Janice Cheddie and Isaac Julien, one (0.2) Project Co-ordinator Rohini Malik Okon and funds two full-time PhD researchers Simon Harvey and Rohini Malik Okon in the area of visual culture. Translating the Image, Cross Cultural Contemporary Arts also has a number of associate members who continue to contribute to the project.
During its life-span Cross Cultural Contemporary Arts has also received additional funding from the European Social Fund, Pro- Helvetia (Arts Council of Switzerland), Middlesex University, and the Victoria Miro Gallery.
