“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” (Sylvia Plath)

“I like the feeling of words doing as they want to do and as they have to do” (Gertrude Stein)

Language is a living breathing life form. One that changes, evolves, evades, comforts, betrays. Inhabiting language to communicate lets the writer contribute something of her/himself to this living art form, thereby ensuring a future, a connectivity, a confluence.

Goldsmiths College, located in South East London, is home to the MA in Creative and Life Writing programme that sponsors Goldfish Online Journal. The MA programme challenges committed writers to explore their potential and examine their work in a constructive environment. The course is unique in that it combines Creative and Life Writing, and encourages prose and poetry.

The journal aims to give new writers undertaking the MA programme a chance to share their work with others. We hope not only to give students a place to display their work but also that Goldfish will reach all facets of the literary industry.

The Journal is divided into the following genres:
Short Story, Novel, Life Writing, and Poetry
