"On Whose Terms? Critical Negotiations in Black British Literature and the Arts"
13-14 March 2008, Goldsmiths, University of London

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in an extraordinary two days of conversations, discussions and celebrations of the field of Black British literature and the arts. The feedback has been immensely positive - many people remarking that it was an historic event which should, of course, be continued in the future.

There will be a reflective publication to which all presenters of papers will be invited to contribute and this will take shape over the next year. Everyone will be contacted in due course.

A newly developed web resource of information will be appearing later in the year: BB:WIRE (Black British: Writing, Information, Resource, Exchange) which, based at Goldsmiths, will aim to create an accurate pool of information about Black British writing for researchers, students and the public.

In the meantime, any enquiries and ideas regarding this or other aspects of the event "On Whose Terms?" should be sent to:
