Goldsmiths celebrates 1,000 Twitter followers
Published: 15 January 2010 11:00

Goldsmiths, University of London is celebrating today after gaining its 1,000th Twitter follower.

The Twitter account GoldsmithsUOL is managed by the Press and PR team and used to keep everyone up to date with events, research, staff or student achievements and any other College updates.

Since signing up to Twitter in February 2009, Goldsmiths has selected to follow a small selection of targeted journalists, fellow academic institutions and other media outlets.

Peter Austin, Press & PR Officer, said: "We've had a really good response to Twitter, our events and news are regularly re-tweeted by followers and we've found it a really useful tool for communicating. We are now looking to carry on attracting followers throughout 2010."
